Community

Community is at the heart of our allotments. Plotters share a strong sense of camaraderie, helping one another and sharing resources—whether it’s lending tools, offering a helping hand, or passing on surplus seedlings.

From time to time, when repairs are needed in communal areas such as the main car park or fencing, plotters come together to assist. Additionally, the committee organizes formal work parties for tasks that require a team effort.

Your skills are valuable in maintaining and improving the plots, as well as ensuring the upkeep of paths and hedges that line the walkways. Plotters are reminded to keep the areas around their plots free from obstructions, allowing others to move freely through the site.

If you come across materials that may be useful to other plotters—such as pallets, fencing, slabs, or compost—please seek committee approval before bringing them onto the site.

Fly-tipping is a serious offence and will be dealt with severely. Plotters are not permitted to authorize the delivery of materials to the site without prior committee approval.

Additionally, all waste generated from your plot must be disposed of at the nearest recycling center. The car park must NOT be used for dumping waste. Repeated dumping in the car park may result in eviction from the allotments.
